The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for the oversight of all accounting, reporting and compliance requirement for the German subsidiary of a US public company as well as full oversight of the German Finance team.

What you’ll be doing:

Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting for Germany including operating cost review and corporate reporting pack review
Supervise accounting team in Germany and work with European and US counterparts in matters relating to the German business
Coordination of preparation of Annual accounts under local GAAPs (German HGB) and audits (US Corporate and German statutory).
Responsible for coordinating preparation, review and timely filing of all required tax returns including VAT
Responsible for maintaining controls and compliance with SOX under guidance from the European Controller
Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, General Journals and other key SOX requirements
Approval of bank payments and spend in accordance with the spending authority matrix
Review of payroll and finance related personnel matters
Running the German commission process in Xactly
Be responsible for managing cash flow, bank relationship and preparing quarterly cash flow forecasts
Other ad hoc projects as needed

What we’re looking for:

Qualified accountant (minimum 3 years post qualified) with proven management experience.
Fluent English (both written and verbal)
Experience in HGB statutory, tax, and VAT reporting
Experience of working under multiple accounting GAAPs and knowledge of US GAAP desirable
Experience working in Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliant environment desirable
Experience working with SAP desirable
Willingness to travel frequently within Germany and occasionally when required to Europe and US.
Dedicated and ambitious, able to handle high work demands and shifting priorities, with strong attention to detail and complete dedication to meeting deadlines.
Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to concisely exchange information and interface effectively with employees of all levels.
Experience within a US publicly listed international company preferred
